To speed the healing of a pimple, crush an aspirin and blend it with enough water to make a paste.  Aspirin contains a high level of salicylic acid, the same beta-hydroxy acid that's found in countless anti-blemish products.  (It goes without saying:  don't do this if you're allergic to taking aspirin.)
