How should you safely dispose of nail polish? Answer: don't just throw it in the rubbish (it's considered 'hazardous waste'). Let the polish dry out by loosing the cap and leaving outside the house (or on a wide windowsill outside, if you're in a flat); this process allows the solvents to break down and evaporate, so they won't seep into groundwater surrounding landfill.
