To avoid beauty products leaking in your suitcase, make sure bottles aren't filled to the brim (they expand under pressure on a plane).  Remove the cap, squeeze the bottle so the liquid inside bubbles up to the top, then screw the top on while holding the squeeze.  To be triply safe, put liquids inside Ziploc bags (grab some extras next time you're going through security).
