Liquid foundation should last around a year if stored in a cool, dry place. If you need to carry liquid foundation around with you, decant small amounts into a small plastic bottle (and clean the bottle in the dishwasher from time to time). And if you find a water-based foundation has gone clumpy (usually because the lid's been left open), add a couple of drops of alcohol-free toner to revive it.
