Suffering from flaky, dry scalp? Dr. Andrew Weil advises supplementing the diet with blackcurrant or evening primrose oil, which are rich in GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), to promote healthy growth of skin and hair. Try a dose of 500g a day; after six to eight weeks, when you start to see improvement, cut the dose in half. He also recommends eating plenty of ground flaxseeds or fish oils in the form of sardines, wild Alaskan salmon (or supplements).
