Beauty Bible Summer Sun Special: After-Suns

Welcome to the very last in our series of round-ups of the very best summer suncare we've trialled for 2016. Truth is, after-suns are as important as in-sun suncare. Why? Because they help to repair damage, nourish and keep skin supple – and sometimes, contain 'booster' ingredients which will ensure your tan lasts long, long after the sun has set on your holiday.

Dr Hauschka After SunTrying out after-suns was actually a real pleasure, thanks to the following. So be sure to make room in your suitcase for these: summer skin's best friends.

Optima Health Organic Aloe Vera Gel/£5.57 for 200ml – this light gel from a plant used traditionally for dry damaged skin is excellent for quelling sunburn or prickly heat and generally keeping skin healthy.

Lancaster Tan Maximizer Soothing Moisturizer Repairing After Sun for Face and Body/£22 for 125 ml – as well as moisturising and repairing, this fruity-fragrant cream promises to prolong your holiday tan for up to one month. Dr Hauschka After Sun/£15.50 for 100 ml – a luxurious lotion, which offers a bouquet of organic plant extracts to soothe and smooth sundried skin, and our top choice for wannabe-natural beauties.

Screen Shot 2016-06-17 at 11.52.59Guerlain Terractta Sun Serum/£43 for 28 ml – this is a serum-style after-sun/hybrid skincare product, which we truly enjoyed using for its luscious texture and Guerlain-ish scent.

Dior Monoi Balm/£24.50 for 150 ml – as deliciously fragrant as suncare gets: luxurious, tropical scent of monoi/frangipani, a bit like holiday vacation in a bottle – and a nourishing, sinks-in-fast texture.

Eucerin After Sun Lotion/£12.50 for 150 ml – marvellously cooling, even before popping this suitable-for-sensitive skins after-sun in your mini-bar (which we like to do).

Bioderma Refreshing After-Sun Milk/£11.10 for 200 ml – as the name suggests, this moisturising milk for face and body is also ultra-cooling and rehydrating, while it contains a special BIOprotection complex (so we're told) to shield the skin against risk of cell damage. It's also specifically designed to curb peeling.
