Shalimar Soufflé Collection

Oh, heavens, where do we start? if there is the remotest chance that you are not yet feeling in the mood for the upcoming party season, this'll swing it. Guerlain's Shalimar Soufflé collection is all-round gorgeousness, laced with shimmer and abundant in rich colour. Frankly (see below), each item is an objet d'art in its own right!

There is, unsurprisingly, a collectible edition of Météorites (gorgeous packaging inspired by the mosaics in Indian palaces), but our own favourites include...

Souffle d'Or de Shalimar – a gorgeous, iridescent powder which you poooooffff! onto skin and hair, veiling it in shimmer and a whisper of the sublime Shalimar, whose iconic shape inspired the container.

Precious Light Pearly Pink Illuminator – add a touch to brow-bone, the cupid's bow, even the bridge of the nose to bring illumination to the face: a sort of candlelight effect.

Rouge G Exceptional Complete Lip Colour – begs to be taken out to dinner, opened up and applied at the table. Forget Miss Manners: this is as glamorous as lipstick gets, in a showstopping red that's utterly on-trend.

As if there wasn't feel-good factor enough, a percentage of sales from each item will go to support the Naked Heart Foundation set up by supermodel Natalia Vodianova (pictured here, Theda Bara-style). Which makes buying any of this almost, almost guilt-free.

Although not, of course – with all these gold specks wafting around – gilt-free...
