B. cosmetics
If you haven’t explored the B. (for Beautiful, obv…) cosmetics range at Superdrug, please start now. I’ve been consistently impressed for years by the value, innovation and practicality of the products they offer. For a quick fix beauty buzz, look at make-up artist Cassie Lomas Collection. Just eight products (with an abundance of glitter) of which I tip the Cassie Lomas Whipped Bronzer – Universal (brilliant for a shoosh of warmth on winter skins), currently £5.99, and the Sheer Liquid Illuminator Highlighter, now £6.66. Then click back and browse the rest! PS They’re all vegan, too.

Beauty Kitchen Sustainable Beauty Wipes
From a now-no-so-teeny company based in Scotland, these are just SO good. I was thrilled to catch up with founder Jo Chidley recently at a Holland & Barrett press day when she reminded me that I’d written one of the very first pieces about Beauty Kitchen in YOU magazine just after it launched in autumn 2014. On principle, we say clean your face properly but… everyone has those late evening moments when that’s just not practical. So, keep these on hand. The organic cotton makes them compostable (better than biodegradable) and they work brilliantly, leaving skin clean and glowing. And the Abyssinian Oil and plants extracts really moisturize too. Do explore the rest of the brand. Find the range at Holland and Barrett.

Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Lotion
A real classic this range (but why-oh-why? did they change the original packaging?) and it’s still as good as ever for dry flaky limbs. That’s if you don't mind that, along with the aloe vera, it contains ‘deep-restoring micro-droplets of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly’, which might upset the green goddesses (I really understand – but it is a great product and a real beauty steal). NB BB also loved the Vaseline Limited Edition Lulu Guinness Lily Doll Face Hand Cream, just £3.65 for 75ml, which is great for nails. It’s still available at boots.com.

Lanolips Tinted Balm SPF30
Yay! I just found my stash of these simply perfect, lip-softening and glossing, tinted lip balms and I’m about to acquire more supplies in, well, maybe all the pretty tints: Perfect Nude, Rose, Rhubarb and Red Apple. And while I’m on the topic of dry winter lips, could I add our very own Beauty Bible Lip Balm, with aloe and vitamin E plus shea butter, just £6. Try stroking it on at bedtime and wake up with softer, comfier lips.

Tisserand Tea Tree & Aloe 24 hour Deodorant
More aloe in this really, really effective natural deodorant. I’ve never had many problems with pongy pits but if there’s a whisker of synthetic materials in a top, it can be a ‘Help!’ arms-clamped-to-sides problem. This natural deo works for me. And I’ve tried many that don't quite cut the whiffy mustard. I haven’t tried it over 24 hours but it certainly does all day and into the evening, so over 12 hours at least. I do check tops for any lingering whiff and, like my pits, there’s nothing – and no synthetic fragrance either.
