An open letter to the government about reopening beauty salons
A few minutes ago this pinged into our inbox – and we need to share it with you, because at Beauty Bible we wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments behind Dermalogica’s open letter to the powers-that-be.
While we are delighted for hair salons the length and breadth of the UK that they can now throw open their doors on 4th July, it seems illogical to reopen pubs while NOT allowing the reopening of spas, beauty salons and gyms – places where some of the huge stresses of the past few months can start to be eased, over and above any improvements to how we look.
Most salons, we know, already operate to the very highest hygiene standards – and the idea that the countless entrepreneurs who’ve put their heart, soul and dreams into their salons are still consigned to the back-burner, while venues selling alcohol are allowed to open, is the most extraordinary way to approach overall health and wellbeing.
We’re behind you all the way, Dermalogica – and all the other furious salon owners, nationwide.
