Odacité Serum Concentrates
We recently met up with Odacité founder Valerie Grandury and were wowed by her wisdom – on sunlight, on healthy eating, on stress and more. What we also had a quiet smile about is that her skincare range, Odacité, is based on a philosophy that we have long espoused: that skin varies, from day to day, and that we need to adjust our skincare accordingly. Maybe it’s lack of sleep. Lack of nutrients when we eat on the go. The side-effects of taking prescription drugs, or having one too many at a celebration. In addition, we face longer-term challenges – everything from oiliness to breakouts via sun damage and loss of elasticity.
Valerie’s idea, then, was to create a range of serums which can be added to skincare as required. Sometimes, that might mean an occasional brightening ‘jolt’, while oily skin (say) would need a more sustained approach to slow down serum production.
After a cancer diagnosis which turned her life on its head, Valerie wanted skincare for herself that was as natural as the diet she’d switched to. By tapping into her contacts around the world – interestingly, scouts she’d previously worked on during her time making films – Valerie sourced some of the most effective botanicals known to skin therapy for Odacité, as she called it.
Blueberry, moringa, buruti, black cumin, green tea, baobab… All of these have then been blended with a key, complementary essential oils to create serums which turbo-charge your skincare with just a drop or two, enabling you to mix and match your skin regime as required.
She does offer a moisturiser base of her own – Olesomes Time Release Delivery Cream – but is realistic that many of us have our own favourite skincare products, and may not switch. But what we can do is add a drop, a two or three of Odacité serums, blend in the palm of the hand, and apply.
We don't eat and drink the same foods and beverages every day. Should we feed our skins the same nourishment, 365 days a year…? We think not – and a big shout-out for Odacité, for offering the option of a more varied, problem-solving complexion ‘diet’.
