Nars The Modern Minimalist Box

As if we weren’t excited enough about the new Nars hybrid tinted moisturiser/foundation, Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF30/PA+++, this almost has us hyperventilating. (And we don’t do that often, except after running up an escalator.) A ‘look in a box’ (and a sexy, matte black box at that), The Modern Minimalist features the new Velvet Matte Skin Tint – but so much more besides, and all for £60. (The foundation alone is worth £30.) There’s a mini Audacious Mascara (in Black), dinky Lip Gloss in Priscilla, downsized Larger Than Life Eyeliner and the iconic Orgasm Blusher, and a teeny Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien. (Weird name, yes, but then our best shade of the new Skin Tint – a light medium - is called Groenland, or Greenland.)

Now, about the Skin Tint. It’s wonderfully velvety and really quite line-blurring for something relatively light. (That action is down to spherical‘Transparent Blurring Powders’, we’re told.) It falls into the category of what we’d call a ‘weekend foundation’: perhaps not enough coverage for work, but gorgeous on a relaxed day. Very comfortable on the skin, it melts in beautifully – and comes in 12 soft matte shades.

But if you’re a Nars ‘newbie’, we can’t recommend too highly that you get the whole box with all those extra goodies – a limited edition at Space NK, while stocks last.  And they won’t, for long...
