MyRoo skincare

At the moment, we’re especially keen to support ‘rising star’ British brands – and this is just a lovely range. It made its way into Jo’s hands when she appeared at Holly Tucker’s Conversation of Inspiration Live in Harrogate back in February – which seriously feels like a lifetime ago, right now. (You can listen to her podcast, here.)

Myroo’s founder Rachael Dunseath (who Jo chatted with on that marvellous evening) has multiple allergies, which has shaped her vision for her skincare collection. Everything’s hand made in Yorkshire, plant-based/vegan and natural, free from nuts – and specially formulated with sensitive, problem or allergy-prone skin in mind.

To that end, there’s a fragrance-free version available for every single product in the range, with free-from formulations that eliminate all 26 cosmetic allergens. (If you think you may have a fragrance allergy you might like to read Myroo’s blog post on it.)

As Rachael says, ‘At Myroo we believe you should be comfortable in your own skin and that includes being confident in the ingredients contained in the skincare products you use every day.’

Particular favourites we’re enjoying include Myroo Gentle Cleanser/£27 fo 43g, based on apricot oil, orange blossom and starflower oil – wonderfully make-up melting, and (in the non-fragrance-free version), blissfully scented.

The Hand Treat/£20 for 40g, is brilliant for a late-night slather; rich and balm-like, it’s a good overnight treatment, a concentrated blend including grapeseed oil and avocado butter which, they maintain, is good for eczema and psoriasis.

And the Rosehip Oil/£25 for 85g. blends rosehip with jojoba and sunflower – again, rich and nourishing but not heavy or claggy. It is VERY easy to neglect our bodies right now, we’re finding, as we spend so much time with our brains whirring overtime, disconnected from our senses – so a good massage with this is wonderfully ‘reconnecting’.

The Skin Boost Facial Serum/£30 for 26g, meanwhile, can be turbo-charged with various ‘Booster Drops’ – a skincare trend we’re seeing a lot of, right now, with (variously) calming, protective or brightening actions.

Right now, we think, small is beautiful. And Myroo is a gorgeous example of a wonderful British brand, worthy of all the support we can give it.
