Some years ago, Jo discovered that her heat rash – which plagued every holiday and sent her scampering off to cool climes for vacations – wasn’t heat rash at all, but a reaction to chemical sunscreens.

There’s also a very innovative Lancaster Sun Sensitive Invisible Compact Face Cream SPF50+ – a higher coverage foundation offering UVA and UVB protection. BUT – big BUT – we wouldn’t ever expect someone to put foundation all over the face, so don’t rely on this. Use over an SPF50, we recommend, for belt-and-braces.
