Katherine Daniels Nourishing Hydrating Balm

Fact: self-tanners are drying. We know this for sure after a few weeks spent slathering on gradual, instant and even week-long self-tanners for the YOU Magazine Summer Sun Special. (You’ll be reading about the ‘winners’ on this site, in due course.)

After the tan-a-thon, some serious moisture was definitely called for – and it came in the form of this brilliant, buttery, nourishing body lotion from a company whose facial (targeted at sensitive skins) we recently reviewed here. After that treatment, Katharine Daniels sent us away loaded with products to try, and this is definitely a keeper.

It’s a chunky tube of skin-loving goodness, unctuous but melting beautifully into skin almost without rubbing. Shea butter and vitamin E feature alongside an ingredient called Brown Seaweed Osmolyte – and the fresh scent further enhances the pleasure factor.

Of course, any self-tanner will also give more seamless results when applied to well-nourished skin – so we wholeheartedly recommend this before you reach for the fake tan, as well as for anyone who’s tried 37 of them in a matter of weeks, looks like a skewbald pony and is desert-dry. Oh, the things we get up to, in the name of research...
