We were gutted (due to half-term clash) to miss our old friend Bobbi Brown when she touched down in London for A Very Important Moment in the life of her second beauty brand, Jones Road.

Way, way back when, to the time when Bobbi launched her namesake make-up brand in the UK, Jo wrote the first-ever piece about this ‘rising star’, for YOU Magazine. The response broke Harrods’s switchboard, and we don’t need to tell you about the success that brand went on to enjoy.

As a result of building that global make-up name, Bobbi could be spending her life looking at sunsets right now. But no. She had the vision to start a new, easy-peasy and ‘clean’ make-up line, Jones Road – and we were lucky enough to be among the first to get our hands on that, too. (Read our initial write-up, here.)

It was at first tricky to get your hands on in the UK, then got easier – and now, as you can see from Jo’s snap of the counter, below (which was absolutely thronged with customers), you can dip and dab and do some #IRL Jones Road-testing, at Liberty. (Of course that means that the collection’s also on Liberty’s website, now, too – here.)

It was definitely a hugely proud moment for Bobbi, below – as she put it, ‘How cool is that?’ (And we couldn’t agree more.)

We got to play with LOTS of products we’d wanted to get our hands on, most notably the brilliant What The Foundation (‘WTF’, for short, which makes us smile); it’s seamless and just looks so, so natural, while definitely offering cover. Also happy to check out in person The Face Pencil/£24 (see pic below of the brilliant shade line-up in Liberty’s Marlborough Street window, which Jones Road has taken over for a bit).

As we say, the counter was really rammed for our impromptu visit, but we’re planning a return soooooon. (Probably early morning, when we reckon the counter will be nice and quiet, and the make-up pros will be at our disposal!)

But meanwhile? Bravo, Bobbi. Here’s to three decades of friendship, inspiration – and ‘looking like us, only prettier'.
