Have a Pretty Powerful day (with a little help from Bobbi Brown)
Today is International Women's Day. (Though really, we think it should last a MONTH. At least.) And so, we're sure, does our friend, the make-up artist Bobbi Brown. Bobbi has done more than almost any other pro we know to make women - of all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life, and with diverse shades of skin - feel happier in that skin.
Her latest - fab! - book, Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful (the images you see here are taken from this) is a celebration of her philosophy, featuring page after page of amazing before-and-after photos - which demonstrate the power of make-up to (as she puts it) 'make you look like yourself, only prettier'.
Featured here: professional boxer Keisher McLeod-Wells (a.k.a. 'The Boxing Diva', a professional boxer, in our main pic), and (below) Alexis Stewart, a US radio personality who knows what it's like to grow up in the shadow of a very powerful woman (her mother is Martha Stewart).
The book features these women's stories, and wisdom - but it also shares Bobbi's all-important make-up wisdom (including the brilliant 10-Step Beauty Make-up Basics).
Recently, Bobbi was in the UK, 'giving back' by partnering with the UK's Dress for Success charity. This, if you don't know it, is a brilliant venture.
And to help raise funds - launching, appropriately, on International Women's Day - we can all do our bit (and bring a pretty flush to our cheeks at the same time) with this Pot Rouge, in aid of the Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women & Girls Initiative (which is dedicated to helping women acquire education, job skills, and work experience).
