Fab Find of the Week: Guerlain Le Rouge G Matte

We’ve raved about Guerlain Le Rouge G before, and we probably will again. Not cheap, but these filmstar-worthy lipstick cases – in an ever-more-gorgeous selection  of shades and finishes (we’re swooning for Urban Emerald faux crocodile, ourselves) – can be refilled, which we really love. (There’s also so-on-trend fake snake, lacy finishes, hot pink lacquer… The options are endless.)

The idea is: choose your case, then choose your Rouge G to go inside. (Or you can build a wardrobe of Rouge Gs, of course, and swap them over depending on mood and season.) There’s also a range of shades and finishes – but what we’re really enjoying is the new semi-matte ‘IT-COLOUR’ collection. Incredibly comfortable for a matte-ish lipstick, the formula contains black cumin seed oil, which isn’t just hydrating and nourishing but is said to be antioxidant and regenerating. 

The finish isn’t flat-matte at all, but slightly luminous – and the colour stays put for hours, almost like a stain.

Best of all? We love the fact that the case flips open to reveal a mirror. All you need to check your make-up – and more than smart enough to be whipped out at the dinner table.
