Frances Prescott Tri-Balm

It may look like a deodorant. But it’s not: this is a pretty revolutionary, twist-up multi-tasker – hence the ‘tri’ in the product title.

Almost entirely natural, it swivels up to deliver a stick of meltingly soft balm which works in three ways. (It’d be ideal for a festival, if we had any more of those on our radar this summer. Which, alas for us and our wellies, we don’t.)

First, it cleanses – basically like a balm cleanser, softening make-up and debris ready for removal with a blend of sunflower, sweet almond, wheatgerm, crambe oil and more. (Beeswax is what gives it texture.) Swipe away with a muslin cloth – as per our eternal prescription.

Secondly, it has a subtle exfoliating effect – gently targeting the dead skin cells with pumpkin enzymes, which are among the mildest exfoliators around. (You won’t even know it’s happening – till you look in the mirror and clock your fresher, brighter skin – because this happens without the need for ‘particles’ or beads.)

Lastly, after you’ve cleansed skin, you can use a dab or three of the exact same product to moisturise and nourish – it offers hyaluronic acid to plump up skin, alongside antioxidant vitamin E and blackcurrant. It smooths beautifully into skin.

Seems a bit pricy? Well, it lasts for absolutely ages.

Just who is Frances Prescott? She’s a well-loved make-up artist and facialist, whose debut product this is.

And on the basis of this, we can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
