Fab Find of the Week: Ruby Hammer Magnetic Brush Set
She's back. Not that make-up artist Ruby Hammer really went away; she's continued to work on fashion shoots and catwalk shows, making up the A-list beauties who know they'll look AH-MAY-ZING once Ruby's worked her magic.
But since Ruby (and her sidekick Millie Kendall) sold their pioneering beauty range some years ago, we haven't seen anything of Ruby's entrepreneurial side. So when she asked to meet, to show us something new, we were there faster than you can say 'Speedy Gonzales'.
And – but of course! – this is very clever. Three make-up brushes in one, which click together in THE most satisfying way, thanks to built-in magnets. Use these synthetic bruushes as you like – she's not being prescriptive – but we find they're great for lipstick, eye-lining, concealer, smudging dark shadow... Have a play and see what works for you. You can magnetise the brushes together to create a longer handle while you apply, or use them in their 'short' form, for precision.
What we like to do is load the brushes with a bit of product in the morning: a touch of concealer, a smoosh of lipstick. Then the Magnetic Brush goes in the handbag, and instead of lugging around product, there's just enough to touch up as the day wears on (and our slap wears off).
There's much more genius newness in the pipeline (YES WE WANT THE CLICKABLE FOUNDATION BRUSH, RUBY!) – but other than dropping that hint, we won't spoil the surprise.
But trust us: you're going to be hearing Ruby's name again on a lot of (beautifully made-up) lips, in make-up circles.
