Fab Find of the Week: Weleda Skin Food Face newness

Weleda Skin Food has been a cult fave of make-up artists, beauty editors and the skincare cognoscenti for many a year. (The product first debuted in 1926. Yes, 1926.

The original Weleda Skin Food is one of our most-recommended products to those with sensitive skin, or who are just starting on their skincare journey. But now, a new line-up has landed with a more nourishing, skin-quenching texture – more suited to thirsty and mature skins (like ours), we’d say, delivering instant and lasting moisture and working to restore radiance.

We recently completed an in-depth trial on the products, with 30 testers. The feedback was truly fantastic, with 29 testers declaring their skin condition improved significantly over the trial. By the end of the 28-day trial, four out of five said they would swop to buy the products instead of their existing (often premium) brands. We’ve since been using the products ourselves – just the radiance-boosting treat that skin needs, after a too-long winter.

The line-up is as follows – all commendably affordable. (All we can add is: India Knight highlighted the day cream in her Sunday Times Style column yesterday, so don’t blame us if it’s sold out nationwide!)

Weleda Skin Food Cleansing Balm/£12.95 for 75ml. Best Natural in the CLEANSER (BALM) category in the Beauty BIble Awards 2023, this is a long-awaited make-up melting balm that morphs to a gentle milk, when you add water – and can also double as a super-replenishing overnight face mask, if you choose.

Weleda Nourishing Day Cream/£14.95 for 40ml. A great barrier-booster, at once soothing and skin-quenching, thanks to chamomile, viola tricolor, chamomile and potently antioxidant olive leaf. This actually earned a Silver in the Beauty BIble Awards 2023, in the DAY CREAM category.

Weleda Nourishing Night Cream/£14.95 for 40ml. Bronze in MIRACLE TREATMENT (NIGHT) this year, against very stiff competition, this revs up the Skin Food nourishment still further, with alpha linoleic acid-rich Sacha Inchi oil and collegen-stimulating Centella Asiatica.

Meanwhile, you might want to enter the prize draw we’re currently running for the trio (open till 31st May), here.
