Fab Find of the Week: Trinny London skincare

Last week we got to spend a few precious minutes with our friend Trinny Woodall while she was surrounded by her fans – interestingly, of ALL ages – at her rather marvellous pop-up near Carnaby Street. She looked incredible (see below) in a trouser suit, sourced on a trip to Australia and perfectly matching the livery of her brand, and as ever, Trin left us fizzing with excitement.

We hauled home her Trinny London skincare line and have been giving it a spin. Too soon to see proper long-term results, but oh, so LOVELY to use. (And a big plus with all of it? There are refills available.) We’ve the confidence to start trying it straight away because oh, does Trinny know her stuff – and she’s got incredibly high standards. She must have triled a gazillion – well, you get our drift – versions of all of these types of product over the years, and we know she’s not about to sign something off unless she’s 100% happy.

So here’s what we’re particularly loving… (NB There are how-to videos for all of them and lovely little films of Trinny explaining her thinking behind each of them, on each product page. Do watch!)

Be Your Best Enzyme Balm Cleanser/£32 for 80ml. A really, really, REALLY good balm-style cleanser, which removes even stubborn eye make-up. Could be part of a double-cleanse, but this swishes away when you add water – and frankly, we’re fine with using it on its own. Does a terrific job.

Bounce Back Instant Peptide Moisturiser/£49 for 50ml. These two  moisturisers are the newbies in the range, and so far as we’re concerned, both are keepers. This is a mega-dose of hyaluronic acid which plumps instantly and makes skin look and feel very vibrant. Can be used morning, evening – or both.

Energise Me Niacinamide Moisturiser/£42 for 50ml. Niacinamide is great for re-booting tired skin, we find, and here there’s a good dose of it alongside comforting Centella Asiatica (a.k.a. cica), plus radiance-boosting succinic acid. It’s more lightweight than the peptide moisturiser, but frankly when it comes to moisture, more is more is more, and we’ve even been layering them.

Boost Up 30% Vitamin C Serum/£65 for 30ml. OK, so this is about near-instant results: three days of using this and skin is brighter and glowier. It’s jam-packed with antioxidants and has a lovely, gentle, balm-y texture, on skin.

Everything smells very pretty – a light, airy posy of spring flowers, with a touch of cedarwood. (Trinny’s as picky about fragrance as she is about everything else.)

With the help of some of the most respected figures in the skincare world, they’ve also cleverly come up with a skin version of Trinny’s famous Match2Me online ‘prescription service’, to help steer you to your perfect products – try it out here (scroll down to ‘Your personalised skincare routine’).

Someone give the woman a Damehood, please?
