Fab Find of the Week: Eyeam newness
From the very first time we met Roxanne Marrone, we could feel her spark. She’s the daughter of Organic Pharmacy founder Margo Marrone, who we’ve known and admired since she set up the very first brand of that natural skincare store, on the kink in Chelsea’s King’s Road. At the time we met her, Roxy was doing Organic Pharmacy’s social media – but things have moved on since then, the Marrones sold the business… and now, they’re back with a whole new and very different brand that we need to put onto your radar.
Eyeam – its logo is an eye, with ‘am’ after it – calls itself ‘a community-driven wellness destination on a mission to align your skin with your mind, body and spirit.’ So, there’s a ritual element to Eyeam, whose products are infused with crystals and accompanied by affirmations. Sounds a bit woo-woo? Stick with us, here – because the mind/skin link has long been recognised by science, and taking time to rebalance ourselves – via breathwork, nutrition, even repeating positive messages out loud – can most definitely have a positive impact on skin.
That’s something that Roxy knows first-hand – after experiencing hormonal acne, and turning to mind-body medicine to heal her skin. And that helped shape this mother and daughter’s vision for their new co-venture, which also has laudable sustainability credentials, which you can read about here.
But even if you’ve never taken a yoga class, think crystals are a load of cobblers and feel you ‘don’t have time to meditate’ (as someone we know dared to say to Deepak Chopra’s face, not long ago!!!), there’s no getting away from Margo Marrone’s skincare expertise.
Eyeam offers only a small range, for now – but we’ve high hopes that it will expand, and both the products we’ve tried so far we’ve loved. Each is delivered via a smooth rollerball fashioned from rose quartz crystal – and NB you have to twist beneath the rollerball to get the product out, as we discovered after a few failed attempts to get anything out of the packaging!
Eyeam No Baggage Eye Serum/£26 for 15ml. A lightweight serum, powered by circulation-boosting caffeine and horse chestnut and a slew of other botanicals including firming gotu kola, powerfully antioxidant bilberry and grapevine resveratrol, de-puffing arnica plus plumping hyaluronic acid. For the believers: ritualise application with ‘I am letting go of anything that is holding back.’ For the non-believers: just look in the mirror… and you will!
Eyeam Love Language Lip Bloss/£27 for 15ml. First of all… yes, BLOSS! We had to look three times, but it’s described as 50% balm, 50% gloss (and ‘100% about self-love, FYI). Delicously, fabulously quenching and comfy, a wee bit minty, and very plumpifying. It’s great on its own, fabulous under or over lipstick. Whoosh! That’s the sound of it flying straight into a handbag…
The third product in the cosmetics line-up is an azaelic acid-powered Eyeam Crystal-Clear Spot + Pigmentation Treatment/£29 for 15ml, targeting acne, scarring and pigmentation. Now we don’t have spots – but we understand its anti-bacterial action – neem, tea tree, white willow, tea tree, plus calming chamomile and a Vecto-Retinoid – similar to Retinol, but requiring none of the downtime. 24 reviews give it five stars and – well, that’s going to have to do, in terms of endorsements.
And let’s not forget the In My Healing Era Affirmation Cards/£17, with 36 affirmations in the pack, some of which you can see in the photo above. As Margo and Roxy put it, ‘By incorporating these affirmations into your daily practice, you can cultivate a positive mindset, reaffirm your self-worth, and embrace the transformative power of healing.’
But hey, even if you ignore the Mind, Body and Spirit aspects of this brand – which we rather love, our inner hippies never being far beneath the surface – do check out the ‘Skin’ element, won’t you…?
