Fab Find of the Week: every&one multi-tasking cream

Well, we really put THIS through its paces. (To be preicse, Jo did.)

On a short, sunny holiday, it multi-tasked in just the way it was designed to, when Jo managed to forget both cleanser AND night cream in her luggage. In for a penny, in for a pound, she also successfully used every&one as after-sun, hand and foot cream, and (to quote): ‘I’m pretty sure it would work as hair conditioner, at a pinch – and I plan at some point to give that a shot.’

Now, there’s a lot of buzz about ‘skinimalism’ right now – the idea that we don’t need so many products, and a pared-down routine will be kinder to skin and to our pockets. And if you’re going to simplify, we say: start here. So, this promises to wash, cleanse, shave, prime and moisturise, in one (not to mention working as a non-foaming shaving cream) – and it not only delivers, but is lovely to use.

It's fragrance-free, deliciously nourishing but non-greasy, creamy but not sticky – an all-round superstar, actually. And if you travel light, you could pop the airport-security-friendly tube in your kit, and save a both weight and hassle. It’s also ideal for all ages and all genders.

With vitamin F, squalene and coconut-derived coco caprylate, it’s designed to combat dehydration and provide support for the skin barrier – because when that’s impaired, skin becomes super-vulnerable to bacteria, irritants and pollutants.

The founders, Geoff Cook and James Kay, have over 25 years of experience in pharmaceuticals. While working closely with scientists and the NHS, they came across a formula which was simple and effective – and, as they put it, ‘It became our mission to bring it to the skincare industry, and in doing so create something that was more sustainable and more affordable than alternatives.’ After formulation improvements, every&one is exactly that – at just £18 for a 100ml tube. (Oh, and that tube? Made of recycled plastic, and recyclable.)

The beauty world wants us to buy lots and lots of different products, but we’ve known since we wrote our very first book – when we featured a spread of double-duty beauty products with surprising ‘second lives’ – that many products will perform multiple tasks.

We’re setting ourselves a challenge, now – to see just how many tasks every&one can perform.

Let us know what you come up with, too?
