Fab Find of the Week: Chanel Holiday Collection 2022

Swoon, swoon, double-swoon. The Christmas party invites may be a way off, yet, but with un petit peu of help from CHANEL, we will be READY.

Even by Chanel standards, this is a pretty creative collection, and there is much to covet. So we thought we’d just introduce you to our stand-out delights, from this celestial collection. (Um, there’s a bit of scrolling ahead.)

Les 4 Ombres – Ombres de Lune/£50. CHANEL’s eyeshadow quads are among the most coveted out there, and this is a beauty, spanning matte to pearlescent, with shades of copper, amber-gold, smooth bronze and matte brown, each embossed with a different iconic ‘symbol’, from the double-C logo to a darling little Chanel No5 bottle.

Chanel No5 The Gold Body Oil/£85 for 250ml. So, if we’re talking about No5, this is off-the-scale sublime. A nourishing slick of lightweight body oil, shot through with shimmering particles of gold, imparting the authentic scent of No5 wherever it’s applied – and that really lasts, because perfume hangs around much longer on moisturised or oiled skin. Particularly fetching on forearms, shoulders, décolletage or shin-bones. (Yes, really.)

Chanel Le Vernis, in Étoilé/£25. The seasonally-perfect nail polishes include a classic red (Super Lune), a khaki-gold (Clair de Lune), and this, a golden-amber topcoat that kisses nails with teensy shimmery particles. Sali Hughes was sporting a gold leaf manicure on her Instastories recently, and this is a good way to recreate that look at home, over clear base coat – or you can sparkle-up a coloured polish, of course. We’ll be trying out both those effects.

Éclat Lunaire Oversize Illuminating Face Powder/£68. We almost never recommend something on looks alone. But we would buy this for its beauty: an illuminating bronze powder, embossed with an imprint of a No.5 bottle, against a lunar background. You CAN use it, of course – in which case you’ll want to know that it comes in rose-gold Or Ros, and a slightly deeper Cuivre Doré – but the minute you swish a brush over that lunar surface, you’re going to affect its appearance. We will make do with (star) gazing at this, and treasure it.

We’re completely loony for the lot of them.
