Fab Find of The Week: Balance Me newness

For too long, we think, the beauty buzz has been all about stripping skin. Scrubs, peels, acids, this-abrasion, that-abrasion.

At last, though, the skincare pendulum is swinging back the other way, and the emphasis once more is on cherishing, nurturing and boosting the skin’s ‘barrier function’ – which, after all, is what skin’s for. When it’s strong, skin retains moisture far more effectively and is less likely to become sensitive.

So, we welcome two new additions to Balance Me’s range, which give the skin the kind of TLC we think it deserves. (They don’t bring out newness every day, so that in itself is notable.)

First up, Ceramide Barrier Booster – a name that tells you exactly what this does. As a booster, is an extra step in your routine – between serum and moisturiser – but it’s been formulated in particular for stressed, blemish-prone complexions, or that are prone to redness. And if you’ve been suffering sensitivity – perhaps due to the use of retinoids or acids – this should most definitely be on your skincare wishlist.

The second innovation is a super-gentle cleanser, Pre and Probiotic Cleansing Milk. Deliciously creamy, but 100% fragrance-free in order to be gentle as possible on touchy skins, it features calming manuka honey and oat milk, along with those pre and probiotics. Skin feels perfectly clean, very soft – and properly soothed.
