Fab Find of the Week: Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet

Farewell, then, Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet – one of our favourite-ever foundations.

But bonjour, Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet: a new name for the same completely fabulous base, which now comes in six new shades. (We cannot tell you how happy we are to see how much more inclusive brands are becoming with their foundation ranges.) 

So: Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet, how do we love thee...? Leaving aside the fact that there are now 15 shades to choose from, this deceptively lightweight formula brilliantly evens out skintone in a weightless way. (Even Jo's red veins.)  

You can apply with fingers or a synthetic foundation brush, and the results are equally long-lasting. (Fingers are great in a hurry, though most of the time you'll find us on Team Foundation Brush.)

The finish is just this side of matte, beautifully velvety (um, that'll be why they called it 'Velvet', then) – perfect for this time of year, in fact, when skin needs a bit more help and suddenly the radiance you longed for all summer just makes you look shiny, sweaty and hot.

Ready to make in a seasonal foundation-shift...? Being Chanel, this isn't cheap – but we're looking at it as investment dressing for our complexions.
