There is never a not-good time to treat yourself to a new lipstick. But there's also probably never been a better one than with the launch of a 30-shade kaleidoscopic new range from Estée Lauder of Pure Color Love: the comfiest, most gorgeous lipsticks, served up in a perspex and gold tube that is pure film star glamour. There are several different shade collections: Ultra Mattes, Cooled Chromes, Shimmer Pearls and Edgy Crèmes – all with medium coverage, but infinitely layerable so that you can custom-create different effects. (Jo's particularly loving Ripped Raisin – a shimmering plum, and the rich, deep glimmering red Pocket Venus.)

The texture's creamy – and so lip-friendly, with its blend of pomegranate, mango and açai oils (and the subtlest vanilla taste). But what we also like is the innovative bullet design: it has two edges – use the sides for precision application, or sweep the whole thing across lips for a more bitten-lip effect.
