Estée Lauder DayWear Matte Oil Control Anti-Oxidant Moisture Gel Crème

DayWear has featured in our skincare regimes since the day our beloved former head of Estée Lauder’s R&D, Daniel Maës, unveiled it to us – oh, must be 20 years ago now. The original DayWear’s as brilliant as ever, with its light cucumber signature scent. But now it comes in a new variant making it suitable for oilier complexions, or simply those who want a matte, velvety finish. (What we love about the original DayWear is its dewiness – but that’s not everyone’s bag.)

Even oily and combination skins need moisture (you have heard that mantra many a time from us) – and this cooling gel-crème delivers, while controlling oil and reducing excess shine. It features mattifying ingredients (including a seaweed extract called Laminaria saccharina), and the oil-absorbing effect is said to last for up to 10 hours.

Best of all, though, that result is ‘matte not flat’ – so skin looks healthy, and is optimally protected by DayWear’s complex of five potent antioxidants.

Dr. Maës’s legacy endures – and we’re pleased to see that Lauder’s skincare boffins are maintaining his extraordinary skincare legacy. And maybe even going beyond…
