Clinique Pop Oil Lip & Cheek Glow

Black Honey Lip Gloss was probably Jo's first 'grown-up' make-up purchase, many, many years ago – so we retain a soft spot for this universally flattering Clinique shade, which has a new incarnation as a fluid gel for lips and cheeks. It has a doe-foot applicator which glides onto lips delivering sheer, lip-enhancing colour - or over cheeks to add the sheerest veil of healthiness. Truly a product for when your face needs a 'pop' of colour (as the name suggests), but you don't want anyone to see that you're wearing a smidgen of colour. (NB There are three other shades available - but this one's our favourite.)

It's very skin-friendly in texture, infused with safflower, sunflower and jojoba oils - but isn't somehow greasy. A great summer make-up switch, is our verdict – now that sunlight makes even cream blusher (never mind powder) more visible on the complexion.
