Clarins Crème Rose Lumière Rose Radiance Cream

Earlier this week, Jo had a bit of a pinch-me moment when (thanks to the kindness of a friend who grew up there), she got to see around Sissinghurst’s rose garden before opening time, burying her nose in all manner of glorious blooms. (See below for one of the photos!)

But actually, burying your nose is rather reminiscent of that experience. There’s a gorgeous tea rose scent to Crème Rose Lumière which positively invites diligent slathering, for the sheer pleasure of use.

We believe that’s one reason why rose-scented products have historically done very well with our Beauty Bible testers: when you use a product regularly – and smell plays an important role in making you want to do that.

Clarins Crème Rose Lumière Rose Radiance Cream is positively rose-tastic, scent-wise. But the cream is beautiful in its own right. It looks like an old-fashioned strawberry ice cream (before they banned red colouring!), with a bouncy, mousse-like texture. Massaged into skin, it really does make skin look instantly radiant – we think that some of that pink pigment actually has some cosmetic effect – and skin is left super-smooth and make-up ready. It features seven plant extracts, so Clarins tell us, alongside three of their renowned age-defying botanicals which work on firmness, radiance and to protect against environmental.

Long-term results? We’ll be hoping to turn to our Beauty Bible testers for that verdict. But as for instant benefits? Those are unquestionable. And when we close our eyes, we’re almost at Sissinghurst.
