Chanel haven’t had one of these before in their make-up collection, and in a world in which we’re much too frantic to touch up our make-up pretty much at any point in the day (save for an occasional rushed swipe of lipstick), it couldn’t be more welcome.

Longwear Eyeshadow Primer is very silicone-rich, lightweight and with a gel texture, making an ultra-smooth – indeed, velvety-soft – base for lids. Unlike some primers, it doesn’t really tint the lid when you apply it. If you want to neutralise your lid colour, you can apply concealer over the top – or head straight to your eyeshadow palette, which loves to cling to this.

Colour goes on with more intensity, stays put longer – and resists creasing, we’ve found.
