Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour

We’ve always loved, loved, loved, loved, loved (get it?) Chanel nail colours. But we'd be lying if we said there wasn’t, with some (non-metallic) shades, a bit of a compromise to be made in terms of long-wear. But that was then.

And with the new Le Vernis, this is now.

Because the updated formula (which you overlay with the Le Gel Coat topcoat) is incredibly, incredibly impressive. It’s 5-free – meaning that most of the known toxic ingredients have been removed – yet this truly goes the distance like the gel polish it’s named for.

Jo opted for deep claret Mythique on her toenails – professionally applied at her usual pedicure salon, rather than an at-home job, NB. But then she always does take her own polish, the better for touching up any chips.

Only with this, there weren’t any. For six weeks. Yup, six weeks. Because of an overloaded diary, Jo had to extend the time between pedicures to almost a month-and-a-half, and the tips didn’t show any signs of wear or chipping at all. In fact, if it hadn’t been for the nail growing out at the base, she wouldn’t have had to revarnish at all.

The 15 shades are as on-trend as you’d expect from Chanel. But from now on, that won’t be the only reason we choose them.
