Chanel Huile de Jasmin

Gabrielle Chanel’s first foray into skincare was a complexion-caring jasmine oil, retailed in her boutique back in 1927. This luxe (and luxe-priced) oil recreates that, updating the skincare technology for modern times but focusing still on an exquisite jasmine extract from Chanel’s own fields in Grasse.

As heaven-scented as you’d imagine, it’s light-textured, skin-softening – and as lovely a facial oil as we’ve ever enjoyed applying. (They also suggest mixing a drop into your night or day moisturiser or serum – which works beautifully and makes anything smell lovelier, frankly.)

Results? Need to give it a bit longer to report on those – but the sheer pleasure factor of this means anyone who splashes out on a bottle is bound to use it diligently.

And in between, the bottle’s going to grace that bathroom shelf in quite the chicest way.
