Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Cooling Body Gelee

Each year, Estée Lauder seduces us with innovations in this fragrant collection. Understandably, Bronze Goddess has become a bit of a cult.

With its exotic white flowers (from tiaré, a.k.a. frangipani), its sea-breeziness and its whispers of coconut, all we have to do is smell it and we get heavenly visions of beaches, palm trees, piña coladas.

This year, there are a couple of additions to the line-up – but they couldn’t have chosen a more perfect time to launch this particular baby. We’ve had a heatwave! A proper heatwave! And all of us have been looking for ways to combat that.

Can’t think of a nicer way than this. OK, so the cooling action doesn’t last that long (nothing can ever be a refrigerator-in-a-tube) – but it’s certainly enough to make us feel human again. A delicious gel texture, it’s also moisturising, and can be spritzed from neck to toe, veiling skin in what is now a classic modern summer scent.
