Beauty Clinic: Party make-up tips, please?

Q. I have to go from work to several parties so no time to change except for make up. I’m okay on the basics but what do you suggest to ‘glam’ myself up? A. As make-up artist Armand Beasley, whose clients include Goldie Hawn and Michelle Keegan, says, ‘you want maximum glam with minimum effort’. Here he shares his ‘Fave Festive Five’ products, (which actually turns out to be six if you are counting…).

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer/£22. Pop a little of this hydrating light-diffusing and long-wearing product on the back of your hand, then pat on with your ring finger, especially round eyes and over any blemishes. You can use instead of foundation: just build up in thin layers. In ten shades - buy here

Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow/£38.50. You can use this magic product as a primer for instant soft focus luminosity to perk up tired skin. (Try mixing a teeny bit in with your foundation.) Or use over make-up: stroke a little over the top of cheekbones and under eyebrows as a highlighter. Brilliant on shoulders, décolleté, or even the front of bare legs - buy here

YSL Wildly Gold Palette/£69. Four versatile eye shadows, two lip colours (one sheer pink, the other semi-matte in mid-rose) and a stunning baby pink blush. Press (rather than brush) a little of the gold on the middle part of your eyelid, then blend out the edges. Use the dark grey – Smoking Noir – wet or dry along the lash line: widen out slightly at the outer edge for a more ‘lifted’ look – a softer version of the ‘kitten flick’ - buy here

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara/£13. Fab for those teeny hard to reach bottom lashes, and also perfect for intensifying top lashes - buy here

Bobbi Brown Art Stick/£19.50. Fab multi-tasking chunky pencil that works as a creamy lippy/liner for perfect party lips (and great for cheeks too). in eight shades - buy here

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner/£14.   Add instant sparkle with a thin line over your existing liner, or a dab at the inner corner. In blue-grey Spandex or bright violet ACDC. (If you can’t find this now-cult product, The Body Shop offers a silver Glitter Eyeliner for £9) - buy here
