Beauty Clinic: Older eye make-up tutorial
Q. I'm 50 and last night after putting on my usual makeup I noticed for the first time that my eyelids were very crêpey… Really awful!!! I need to change everything but to what? What is the best shadow for crepey eyelids? The best primer? And what eye product should I be using? Help please. A. OK!! We launched into action and consulted the wondrous Jenny Jordan (www.jennyjordan.com) who says many of the clients at her Hampstead salon fret about the same problem. This is her tried and tested solution:
Eye treatment Dermalogica Multivitamin Eye Firm/£38.40, www.dermalogica.co.uk: phenomenal reviews for this retinol-containing light cream, which fills in fine lines and gives a smooth surface all around eyes; also helps dark circles and puffiness.Base: Mii Enhancing Eye Prep/£16.95, in Refreshed 01 or Alert 02, that enhances eye area worn alone or with make up; apply with fingertip all over lid and up to brow.
Eye shadow Cosmetics à la Carte Velvet Cream Eyeshadow in Blonde/£25. Stroke a little from the applicator wand and smudge over your whole eyelid. Add va va voom with a little dab of gold in the middle - use Mii Forever Eye Crayon in Sorbet/£17.
Mascara Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara/£23 in black: fabulously flattering, kohl-pigmented formula lasts all the day and into the night…
For evenings, add eyeliner, pushed down into the roots of lashes. Try Bobbi Brown Long-wear Gel Eyeliner/£18.50.
Et voilà! Simply fabulous...
