Beauty Bible’s Weekend Steal: Avon Adapt

Gosh, you know the world’s shifted on its axis a bit when mainstream beauty companies start acknowledging the challenges of menopause – and TALKING ABOUT IT LOUDLY.

That’s the premise behind this three-product range, specifically created to support women through the hormonal effects of menopause and its precursor, perimenopause by helping with skin fluctuations. It’s been carefully thought through, is lovely to use and we’re impressed – not least because it’s really good value.

The low-down on the trio, then…

Adapt Icy Cooling Elixir Facial Mist/£7 for 30ml. A deliciously cooling facial mist, ideal for when you’re overcome by a hot flush (or, we suggest, in the coming months for use on hot days or as a mid-afternoon at-desk cool-down spritz); in Avon’s own trials, 100% of women experienced an instant decrease in skin temperature, thanks to ingredients that include tillicora, a native South Asian adaptogenic plant unique to this range, plus geranium oil and sandalwood, for mind-calming.

Adapt Dream Cream Night Cream/£12 for 50ml. Aims at tackling sagging menopausal/perimenopausal skin, the result of collagen depletion. It features tightening, plumping turmeric, infused with a scent designed to help beckon sleep, which can be so elusive for menopause sufferers. (And even if you’re not, the fragrance is quite lovely.)

Adapt Hydra Rescue On The Go Serum/£14 for 30ml. Again, powered by turmeric, boosting skin’s moisture levels by 98%, scented this time with sweet orange oil and water lotus. You can reapply during the day, if you like – much easier to do when so many of us are working from home, now, and don’t need to wear full make-up for work.
