Votary Radiance Reveal Mask
Just because it’s summer, doesn’t mean that skin doesn’t need a bit of a revving up sometimes. (Particularly if you use facial self-tan or tanning drops; it can go a tad dingy, after a few days.)
So, Votary Radiance Reveal Mask has been our go-to brightening mask for the past few weeks: creamily rich, but packing a pretty powerful AHA punch
To wit: it does tingle slightly on the skin, which – as people who inhabit sensitive complexions – freaked us out slightly, till we realised that there was no visible legacy of the tingling, at all, once the mask was removed. Just a clear, vibrant, glow-y face that was brilliantly primed for serum, cream, oil, all of which seem to sink in just that little bit better for having a smoother, de-gunked canvas.
The two key acids here are mandelic acid and lactic acid, which are balanced by a calming complex of plant extracts, and it’s said to work across all complexions to improve texture and decongest pores. Two other actions are promised: a reduction in fine lines and the evening out of pigmentation, but in truth, we’re not convinced a mask that is removed after a few minutes can make much of a difference, there. (Since we’re using regularly, we’ll report back if we see either of those benefits later.)
If you don’t know them, Votary is the brand founded by make-up artist Arabella Preston, which harnesses botanicals across its growing skincare line-up. In this case, a little goes a surprisingly long way, and we’ve been building up from five minutes with the mask on the face to 10, and now 15.
The result? Glow-y, summery, bright skin – surely top of everyone’s beauty wishlist.
