VON NORTEN candles
Most of us have been spending a lot more time at home than usual. So: our sanctuary needs to smell good, no?
Enter VON NORTEN, a new sustainable, ethical home and body line which happens to feature some fab ‘clean’ candles. There’s a chunky Balancing Scented Candle/£43 for 152g, with a revitalising blend of lavender, tea tree and geranium – very ‘unisex’, we’d call it (and we’ve needed all the balancing we can get in recent months).
There’s also range of regular-sized Scented Candles/£47 for 215g, which burn for 60 hours – but we’ve been very taken with these votives, which are available in bright, cheery and lovely Bergamot, as well as Lavender and something called ‘Inspiration’, promising a burn time of up to 30 hours each. (Fresh, citrusy bergamot is an almost universally loved smell, in our experience.)
In line with this brand’s eco-philosophy, they’re paraffin-free, cruelty-free, made in England from natural plant waxes (and vegan with it). PLUS the glass is recycled, we’re told. But when it comes to a scented candle, it’s – well – the scent that really swings it for us. And this ticks that box upliftingly.
The votives come in trios; the candles definitely aren’t overpriced, but if you wanted you could team up with a couple of mates to buy three. And – in a socially distanced way – split the box.
£30 for the trio – buy here
