Sarah Chapman Skinesis Platinum Pep8 Stem Cell Serum

Heart-stopping moment in Stacey Towers when Sarah’s husband knocked over an undistinguished-looking, little dropper bottle with a white label – he was shaking the duvet at the time. The squawks might have been heard all over west Dorset as Sarah jumped over the bed to check that – phew! - not a precious drop had been spilt.

The little vial was a lab sample of Sarah Chapman’s truly fabulous new serum, which is also rather heart-stoppingly expensive. But – not surprisingly from Sarah, truly a super-facialist with an A-lister client index as long as your arm – this is a powerhouse where skin’s concerned.

This serum started life as something Sarah mixed up to use with microneedling sessions. Then clients asked for a stand alone product they could take away.

The ‘Pep8’ refers to eight potent peptides, which, they tell us, help to boost collagen production, visibly reduce wrinkle depth, neutralise free radicals (the rogue molecules than contribute to ageing) and promote a more even-toned and supple appearance. There’s also hyaluronic acid to help hydrate, plump and smooth skin plus gardenia stem cells to counteract UV damage so your complexion looks fresher and younger.

And the platinum? That would be the platinum nano-particles to help targeted delivery of all those actives. The formula is fragrance-free and quickly absorbed – some serums stay a bit tacky after applying but not this. You can use it am/pm, on its own or mixed with moisturiser.

Now, Sarah Stacey - who’s the lucky BB editor trying the serum - has only had it for six days so it’s a bit early to say about collagen production and reduced wrinkle depth. But absolutely definitely ‘Yes! Yes! Yes’ to the promise that skin looks more even-toned, glowing, refreshed and velvety.

So we’d say, do consider investing if your piggy bank is plump enough to spring for it.
