Beauty Bible Loves… PŪREARTH Sambac Botanical Mist
Today seems to be all about the sense of smell. (See Jo’s Scent Notes, our new feature, here.) And what we know from our years of experience, is that (like us) you love products whose smells transport you, as much as we do.
Now, we preface what we’re going to say by stating: facial mists haven’t really ever been on our list of beauty ‘must-haves’. We always forget to spritz our faces when we’re flopping around feeling overheated, don’t use them for ‘setting’ make-up and never generally bother with toner-y products at all.
Or rather, facial mists weren’t on our list of list of beauty essentials – till now. Because this makes us want to do ALL of those things, listed above. From a new-to-us brand called PŪREARTH, this is a new Ayurveda-inspired range (there’s quite a flurry of those, right now), and thus showcases potent (and sometimes, as here, gorgeously-scented) ingredients used in this system of traditional, natural medicine, which has its roots in the Indian sub-continent.
Ironically, counterintuitively, spraying your face with water can actually be drying, when that water evaporates. So it’s important that any spray is infused not just with moisture, but nourishing oil-based ingredients that trap the moisture in the skin, or alternatively, what are known as ‘humectants’, which (rather magically) attract water to the complexion from the air itself. PŪREARTH Sambac Botanical Mist, then, features jasmine, Damascene rose and blue lotus oils, to soothe and hydrate.
But oh, the scent. Exotic white flowers, in the form of beautiful, heady jasmine. If you’ve ever been to India, this is indeed one of the scents of that place, whisking us there when we close our eyes.
We’re definitely making space on the desk and the bathroom shelf, for this. And we promise: we’ll actually USE it!
Because it’s simply spritztastic stuff…
