We’ve a hunch that the beauty world is poised to ‘discover’ the richness of African beauty culture and ingredients, which so far haven’t really enjoyed their deserved place in the sun. And in addition to sourcing from Africa, ingredients are found in Indonesia and India, too – other places where ethical trading can make a huge difference to people’s lives.

Of course, while we might buy something once for that rosy glow from knowing it’s going to benefit someone in the developing world, beauty products (and any other type of product, come to that) have to be as good as – or perhaps even better than – the alternatives out there. The REIS fragrance is earthy, grounding, almost animalic in its mystery.
