Kopari Beauty Coconut collection

Coconut oil is a dream for skin – especially at this time of year. At normal room temperature, it’s super-easy to scoop out and melts into skin, leaving it soft and glistening. (It can also be used for multiple tasks: cleansing, moisturising, a hair mask…)

But the type of coconut oil you buy in a supermarket or health food store lacks a little – well, can we say glamour? And/or pleasure factor? Enter Kopari Beauty: an extensive new range just washed up on these shores from the US, where it’s become a bit of a cult favourite, founded by a Hawaiian-born naturalist and organic chef, Kiana Cabell, and beauty expert Gigi Goldman.

Alongside 100% cold-pressed, sustainably-sourced organic coconuts, sustainably sourced from family farms in the Philippines, Kopari Beauty – which hails from sun-drenched San Diego – harness other skin-friendly ingredients like squalane (which mimics skin's own lipids), and shea butter. Everything is vegan, silicone-free, cruelty-free, phthalate-free – if you like, it ticks the 'clean beauty' boxes. While high in botanicals, though, Kopari's not all-natural, its formulations also featuring high-performance actives. (But they do have a 200-ingredient 'no-no' list.)

Fragrances are very 'tropical'; if you're nuts about coconuts and fruit scents, you'll love them. (Just close your eyes and dream of beaches, we say.)

Alongside the hefty tub of the 'hero' – the Organic Coconut Melt/from £12 for 75ml – we have some favourites. The Lip Glossies are non-sticky but luscious (and straight into a pocket they go). But our fave-of-all product, surprisingly, is the Beach Deodorant/from £9.50. With a sort of sea-breezy 'coastal' scent, the 100% natural blend includes sage (to tackle 'pong') and avoids both aluminium and baking soda – and the coconut just makes it glide so, so comfortably over skin that (and let's face it, we're talking about a deodorant, here!) it is a positive joy to use.

We've a hunch that everyone's going to go nuts about this range – which also lands soon at Boots, BTW.
