Isamaya Wild Star make-up line
This most definitely isn’t our usual bag. But sometimes, just sometimes, packaging so wondrous seduces us – just as we know it does many women.
Now, first things first. Order this and you almost certainly WON’T get it for Christmas; British make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench’s new make-up line, Isamaya, has been delayed and delayed. That also breaks one of our other rules, for Beauty Bible – which is that we only like to write about things you can buy, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW.
And you can’t. It’ll ship between 22nd December and 23rd January, at the latest count. But… we’re really posting this as if we were reviewing a piece of art – because this is true make-up and packaging artistry.
This make-up artist has previously worked as Global Beauty Director of Burberry Beauty, and helped create the stunning BYREDO make-up collection. The list of luminaries she’s worked with is long: Madonna, Bella Hadid, Rhianna, Kendall Jenner.
Now, this is the start of her own true make-up brand journey – and here’s what to look out for. Or maybe join that waitlist for…
Lash Lasso Lash Wrap Mascara/£35. A densely-packed brush delivering a thickening, curling mascara with inky-black pigments, topped by a rhinestone-studded horse. But of course!
Lucky Kiss/£42. Glowing shine: a tinted balm with glittering pearl pigments, hydrating with vitamin E and in three shades ‘inspired by the sun melting over the horizon with its dusk hues and candescent glint.’ Gorgeous. We’re sold on the two-tone shimmer Sunkissed Pink, personally
Spur Stick/£22. Three shades of silky lip-liner – if that’s your thing. No rodeo horse adornment, here, sadly.
Dazzle Up/£38. Not one for us – though we do love, love, love the rhinestone-decorated design of this swivel-up moisturising highlighter, ‘infused with skin-conditioning ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil and retinol-mimicking alfalfa complex,’ to add a luminous sheen wherever it’s swiped.
Wild Star Palette/£85. The dazzling star of this particular rodeo: a shimmering rainbow of shades ‘for glamour-obsessed cowgirls and cowboys who dream of sorbet-coloured sunsets and rodeo nights,’ also designed ‘to release your inner wild child.’ We are really not sure we’ve got one of those, anymore, but we absolutely appreciate the covetable beauty of this absolutely unique palette. And we can think of many young hearts which will beat faster at the sight of this – and actually play with it.
And even if you wouldn’t wear one of the sparkly shadows or brandish a lipstick in public with a horse rearing from its cap… well, you’ve got to take your cowboy hat off to Isamaya, we think.
