Inky & Mole hair accessories

Fringes falling in eyes. Layers growing out. Split and frizzy ends. Never mind a Bad Hair Day, this has become a Bad Hair #Lockdown.

How happy, then, were we to stumble across this fantastic British hair accessories company, and snap a few up from their website to tidy up our shaggy barnets.

We’re hugely impressed by the quality of Inky & Mole’s clips and barrettes – made in Somerset, to the standard we’d expect from France, actually. (Where elegant Frenchwomen have always understood why it’s worth paying a teensy bit more for hair accessories – not least because they don’t snag, tug and basically razor-cut your hair).

Only, unlike the sort of accessories you’d find in Paris (were you allowed to travel there), these have a real fashion feel to them. As the founders – it’s a family business (we like that) – comment, ‘Not only do they have to be colourful, fun, funky and individual, they also have to be functional and long-lasting.’ There’s a touch of the Mary Quants about them (Google her, younger readers!), but they feel completely modern, at the same time. The style above is called Florence, and (as a lover/wearer of navy) is Jo’s particular fave, priced £15.

Great colours, fab finish – all in all, a FANTASTIC find. And while we can’t wait for our next trim, at least we won’t look like a bunch of Strewelpeters, between now and… oh, god, whenever.
