Beauty Bible Loves… ILIA Lip Sketch Hydrating Lip Crayon

There’s been such a social media buzz around these new lip crayons (as with pretty much everything ILIA releases) that we could not WAIT to get our hands – or rather, our pouts – on these.

It seemed impossible that something which essentially looks like a lip pencil could be ‘hydrating’ – but we’re pleasantly surprised. We’re not sure that we’d agree with their statement that the pencil ‘boosts hydration over time’, but it certainly feels enduringly comfy on the lips. (If you drew all over lips with a ‘normal’ lip crayon, your lips would feel two sizes too small for your face, without adding a more moisturising layer over the top (nourishing lipstick, balm, etc.).

Certainly no need for that there unless you want to. A slick of lip balm adds a sheen – but also diminishes the staying power which is a real plus point from this crayon. Draw it on – we outline first, then fill in, as we would with any lip crayon – smoosh and forget it. It isn’t till we look in the mirror a couple of hours later that we realise: lips are still most definitely ‘there’.

12 fab shades – our favourite so far is brick-y red Kiln.

Beauty Bible’s verdict? Worth the hype, actually.
