Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: HELLO Oral Care

Our attention was drawn to HELLO’s oral care range by their survey results, revealing that three in 10 millennials have been putting off visiting the dentist for the past year. Now, the Beauty Bible team has had all sorts of dental nightmares over the past year, some of them related to the difficulty of getting to see a dentist during lockdown – so we completely empathise. (Read our review of Dentists We Love, here, for Jo’s dentist discovery.) So we’re all for anything that encourages devoted tooth-brushing.

Hello’s toothpastes certainly look cooler than most, sure. More importantly than that, they invite diligent tooth-brushing because of the tasty formulas and the fresh-breath feeling of using products which are what they describe as ‘naturally-friendly’ (i.e. all natural ingredients, so far as we can see from label-scanning).

There are some funky ‘finds’ in the line-up – starting with HELLO Activated Charcoal Toothpaste, which may look scary in the tube, but works without peroxide to whiten teeth naturally, freshening breath with mint, while moisturising with coconut oil. (Less of that tight, dry mouth after brushing, we’re finding.) There’s also a matching HELLO Activated Charcoal Mouthwash, based on charcoal derived from sustainable bamboo, along with Xylitol, tea tree oil and coconut oil. (Again, helps minimise that horrid dry mouth.)

We particularly like the HELLO Goodbye Plaque Naturally Whitening Toothpaste, based around a whitening and brightening calcium mineral blend, along with tea tree and coconut oil. Tasty, fresh, effective.

With sustainability in mind, they also offer HELLO Whitening Toothpaste Tablets, which you chew, then wet your toothbrush and brush your teeth. Hmmm. We can’t say we’re QUITE so convinced by this new style of oral care, but we’ll keep at it, because we suspect HELLO are in the vanguard and there’s going to be more of this style of product around.

What HAS won us over, however, is the HELLO Kids Unicorn Toothpaste, which tastes of bubble gum and is cute enough to encourage small people to clean their teeth twice a day (if not more often).

Not silly prices at all, but currently a super-steal at Superdrug, where you can buy one and get another half-price, on selected HELLO products.
