Guerlain Rouge G Luxurious Velvet

Rather excitingly, Guerlain has a new creative force working on the make-up side – and for her first trick as Director of Make-up, Violette has  come up with some new and fabulous additions to the Guerlain Rouge G line-up, which perfectly embody her cool, daring Parisian chic.

What's interesting is they've recruited someone who is not only in demand as a make-up artist for fashion shoots, but actually has her own cult make-up brand. As Violette (below) explains, ' My story with Guerlain is really the story of my femininity… As a little girl, Météorites with its little pastel-coloured pearls for the complexion had a real aesthetic impact on me. I’d stare at the box fascinated, I couldn’t wait to become a woman… I pictured myself at my dressing table putting on lipstick, perfume and dipping a brush into these incredible Météorites. Now I’ve been invited to write the next chapter in Guerlain’s history as Director of Makeup. That’s the magic of beauty.'

Violette's debut has been to create a new formula for Rouge G (a longstanding favourite of ours, which we've featured several times in the past, not least because we love the idea of keeping the case and switching up the lipstick inside, depending on what we're wearing or our mood).

The colours are stunning. There are nudes, pinks and browns, but it's the reds that get our hearts beating, right now: No.88 Ruby Red, No.214 Flame Red, No.88 Burgundy Red and No.910 Black Red.

The texture is also 'vairy' (as Violette would say) clever: it's matte, but it's Slanket-comfy, and the colours are super long-lasting.

In turn, Guerlain have created some stunning new Rouge G lipstick cases to slip them into. (Houndstooth, anyone? Yes, us, please! Because houndstooth is totally on trend, this season.)

Just the thing to help you get your make-up mojo back, if you haven't already.
