GAIA Mini Body Oil Trio and Strengthening Body Oil
It is much, much too long since we've made a spa pilgrimage to GAIA at Boringdon Hall, just outside Plymouth. They have, however, managed to bottle – quite literally - some of the soothing and healing vibe of that very special space in their Body Oils. And if we can't have them massaged into our knotted muscles and dehydrated skin by a GAIA therapist – well, self-anointment is the next best thing.
To join their existing line-up, the spa line – whose treatments are now on the menu at a growing number of locations (including the cool-and-groovy Inhabit hotel in Bayswater, where Jo just stayed) – recently launched a Strengthening Body Oil (right), which GAIA's founder Diane Nettleton tells us is going down very well with anyone suffering from hormonal issues. We're loving it in its own right: a warming, soothing blend of black pepper and ginger (to relieve achy muscles), rosemary (for immune support) and ylang ylang (for inner strength).
With the travel season coming up, however, we will be stashing one or two oils from the GAIA Mini Body Oil Trio, which is very reasonably priced at £27 for the three, and a great intro if you don't know these oils. They nourish, variously, with sunflower, sesame, coconut, olive, almond and jojoba oils, and the three oils are infused with the following essential oils...
Awakening – a little bit citrusy and a lot zingy, with petitgrain, grapefruit, geranium, rosemary, peppermint).
Balancing – with mandarin, lemon, geranium, frankincense, palmarosa and rosemary; honestly, one whiff and we breathe more deeply.
Calming – does what it says on the tin (or rather, bottle), with the blend of orange, clary sage, neroli, chamomile and lavender.
Bliss in a bottle, every one.
