Beauty Bible Loves… Evolve Organic Beauty Miracle Mask
We first met Evolve Organic Beauty’s founder Laura Rudoe when she worked on Ali Hewson’s ‘clean’ skincare line, NUDE, two decades ago. She since parlayed her skincare expertise into her own beauty ranges, Evolve – we can’t QUITE believe this launched in 2009! – and also Adaptology.
Both are natural-as-it-gets, highly effective – having scooped many Beauty Bible Awards, over the years – and we’ve a soft spot both for them and for Laura. (You can read more about the background to Evolve Organic Beauty and about Laura, here.)
And we definitely have a soft spot for this new Evolve Organic Beauty Miracle Mask. Softer skin, too! Have to say we were as ever slightly wary of trying an AHA fruit acid-powered mask, having had problems with the early generation of this dead-cell-busting family of ingredients – but we needn’t have worried. No stinging, no irritation, no redness. And – in the right concentration, used cleverly – there’s no question that fruit acids (in this case glycolic, from sugar cane) can have a visibly brightening effect. It’s paired here with naturally exfoliating enzyme papaya, as well as Peruvian maca, to rev skin up.
The texture’s actually fun – almost like a bright yellow jelly, which applies better than you might think at first dip, and smells lush and fruity. Evolve kindly sent us an egg-timer to time the mask on our skin – and after three minutes, bingo! Definite enhanced glow (in a good way). It smells… fruity. Not fake-fruity, but nice-fruity (there are lemon and orange extracts in there).
We reckon once a week will be enough to keep up the results. But definitely a keeper, for drab days.
